11th February is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science as per  United Nations General Assembly Resolution that was passed on 22 December 2015. The day recognizes the critical role women and girls play in science and technology.

Jalsmruti joins hands with Water Resources Council. Women Indian Chamber of Commerce (WICCI)  to organize a photo/painting story competition on the following two themes:

  •  ‘Impact of Water Scarcity on Girls & Women’ & 
  • “Impact of Ignoring the Science of Natural Water Cycle”

Rules for entering the photo story competition

The photo competition is open for both men and women.

1) You must take one photograph per theme on one or both themes using a smartphone camera.

2) The photograph could be of 

  • a real life scene OR 
  • a painting/sketching they themselves have done using any medium.

3) The photograph must be a visual representation of

  •  ‘Impact of Water Scarcity on Girls & Women’ 
  • “Impact of Ignoring the Science of Natural Water Cycle”

4) Use this form link to upload the photograph for the competition by 5pm 9th Feb 2022

5) You can also post your photo on your facebook or instagram pages using hashtags #girlsandwomeninscience  #girlsandwomeninwaterscarcity and by tagging @jalsmruti

6) Each photo entry must be along with 25-50 words expressing gratitude to water and taking pledge to learn more about the two themes.

Winning photo entries will be shared and uploaded on the social media with credits to your name. As a winner, you will be offered a place in Jalsmruti's online mentoring program called Champions for Local Water Action, if you wish to take it up.
